STOPS LEXINGTON TRAINING SNOW FOE TWO DAYS ENFORCES SUSPENSION OF PREPARATORY GALLOPS. Quite a Colony of Good Riders at the Track Already — Many Foals Arriving — Steps Taken to Form a New Organization. Lexington. Ky.. April 8. — The snow of yesterday and today was mi heavy that training operation* at the Kentucky Association track have been virtually suspended. Preston Batch telegraphed track superintendent James 1. Koss today that six of John Sanfords horses will be shipped here from Louisville about April 25. Jockeys Acton. Andress. J. Brown. Claver, Connelly. Cooper. Denny, llartwell. llatt. Hopkins. Kirschhaum. Mate*, Martin. MoCabe. Median. Shilling. W. Taylor. Walsli and F. Williams are here. T. P. Hayes will introduce a new rider this spring. He is Willie Kelker and hails from Kus-sellsville, Ky. P. Sheridan was a visitor at the track today. He will ship a couple of horses from here to Baltimore, Md. Put Civill arrived today from New Orleans. Mirth dam of Star Actress has a chestnut colt by The Manager at Ashland Farm. T. . McDowell says lie is tic best-looking foal he has owned in many years. A trio of bay fillies were foaled by mares owned by George M. Hendrie at John S. Parbees Glen Helen Stud this week. Dartles is by Ballot, Fragrances is by Hessian and so is Flora Bassetts. Dr. James T. Shannon today sold five share of Kentucky Association stock at a premium of £."00 per share. At Wickliffe Stud Kinrose has a brown filly by Ballot and Orund Prize a bay, colt by Disguise. A meeting of thoroughbred horse owners, breeders and trainers will be held in I exington next Saturday afternoon for the purpose of organizing the Kentucky Thoroughbred Horse Association. A tentative organization was formed at a meeting of about twenty men this afternoon. Fred A. Forsythe being elected temporary chairman and Thomas B. Cromwell tenii or.iry secretary. Messrs. T. P. Hayes. J. O. Koine and Hal Price lieadlcy are a committee to draft by-laws. The object of the association is to be the mutual protection and benefit of those Interested in thoroughbred horse breeding, training and racing.
