NEW ORGANIZATION GAINING ADHERENTS. Many Owners at Pimlico Meeting Take Membership in the Kentucky Thoroughbred Association. B iltimore. Md.. May 3. — Convinced that their interests would l e better conserved if they formed a protective association, more than seventy-five owners an | trainers of racing thoroughbreds met last night in a suburban hotel near IMmlico and affiliated themselves with the recently organized Kentucky Thoroughbred Horse Association. Bradley Wilson, representative of the Kentucky association, addressed the horsemen. It was arranged that the horsemen here should join the Kentucky Thoroughbred Horse Association in a body. Quite a few of those present expressed their views of racing matters in general and it was after eleven oclock before the meeting adjourned. A committee to perfect the organization was appointed with William Garth as Chairman. There was some little friction about the personnel of this committee, but matters were finally straightened out to the satisfaction of all. George P. Sherman and Hart Dernham were appointed temporary secretaries to eaulie the enrollment of the members, after which C. Edward Sparrow, a local newspaper man was named secretary, with the added duty of looking ofter the financial end of the organization. It was decided to hold another meeting on Tuesday next. Mr. Wilson said that the Kentucky Association had 101 members and with the eighty new members recruited here last night the organization assumes considerable importance.
