O. Joplin the chestnut two-year-old colt Rebel, by Salvation La Sinaloa. A chute out of which races at six and a half furlongs can be run will probably be ready for the next Hamilton meeting. The post times of races 27422 and 27425 were incorrectly sent out from Aqueduct Monday. That of the former was 3:35, at post 1 minute, and of the latter 5:10, at post 2 minutes. James P. Edwards of Louisville, Ky., purchased recentlv from C. AV. Gasser the five-year-old mare Fenaltv, by Marathon Miss Lida, by Ogden. Penalty has been shipped to John S. Rarbees Glen Helen Stud and mated with Great Britain. Kimball Patterson disposed of three of his racers in the early hours of Monday morning. J. AA Mc-Graths Nonesuch was sold to C. AV. Gasser and Old Drury to F. J. Kearns. Tootsie, the property of Patterson himself, was sold to J. W. McGrath, but will remain under his care. Says a report of a race meeting in West Aus tralia: "Owing to so many of the young men in the district having gone on active service, there was a shortage of amateur riders, and in two of the events the conditions read: Restricted to riders of forty-five years of age or over. " The patronage of the mutuels on the closing day at Hamilton was the largest of the meeting. The machines arc said to have handled 83,000, bringing the weeks showing up to a daily average of 00,000, the largest that has ever been known in Canada with the exception of the Windsor meeting one year ago. The Powers-Hunter Company has sold for August Relmont the black horse Dragoman, by Rock Sand Donna do Ora, to Matt Ryrnes, who will use the horse for breeding purposes nt his Eatontown, N. J., farm. Dragoman is five years old. Mr. Ryrnes also is in the market for a number of. mares and fillies for breeding purposes.
