1 WINDSOR MEETING ENDS VAST ASSEMBLAGE GATHERS TO VIEW SOME EXCELLENTLY CONTESTED RACING. Blue Fox Wins the Edenwold Stakes in a Driving Finish, with Blaise Second Hecnan Runs Away Thirteen Miles, Then Falls Dead. Detroit. Mich., July 21. The first meeting of the AVindsor Jockey Club came to a close with the running of todays program. The attendance exceeded that of the opening day, when a record breaking crowd was present. It was the largest gathering that ever witnessed a race run over the AVindsor track. Racing conditions were as near perfect as possible and with large fields and interesting contests, the afternoons outing was all that could be desired. The feature race, the Edenwold Stakes, for two-year-olds, went to the Mirasol Stables Hlue Fox. which finally made good after several disappointing performances. Hlue Fox way neglected in the betting. She was a close con. tender from the start and in the stretch wore the tiring leader down and beat Ithiise by a neck in a driving finish. Former jockey AVillie Goose todav purchased from K. K. Kradley the two-year-old Bully Good Time for 00. The youngster has not yet raced, but is said to have shown enough in his trials to warrant his being regarded as a promising racing proposition. The Thoroughbred Horse Association held a meeting last night which was largely attended. Several matters of importance came up for discussion, the principal one of which was the selliug race rule. There have been so many run-ups here of late that some of the horsemen have found themselves in a crippled condition financially. After much discussion, it was almost unanimoiisiv adopted that a recommendation be made to the committee of the Canadian branch of the association to ask the Canadian Racing Associations to make all selling races claiming races. It was also decided that it would be to the horsemens best interests to have the conditions read that the winner could be claimed for the entered price plus the value or the purse. The horsemen claim that last year the run-ups throughout the country amounted to over 00,000. Yesterday the run-ups in three races totalled ,305. It is said that the horsemen will ask the Hamilton Jockey Club to adopt the changed conditions for all selling races at its coming meeting. The condition book for the next meeting of the AA mdsor Jockey Club was distributed among the horsemen this morning. There is no purse in the book of less value than 00 and a number of the races have 00 and ,000 added. The liberal policy pursued by the AVindsor Jockey Club should result in attracting some good stables for their next meeting. One hundred or the books were sent to Chicago, to be distributed among the horsemen racing at Hawthorne. That meeting comes a close several days before the opening of the next meeting here and it is expected that some of the larger stables will ship here. The plater lleenan. the property of A. G. Aivell, unseated his rider this morning, after a trial am. ran away thirteen miles before being caught. The colt was returned to his stable with some difficulty, and as soon as he was turned loose in hiand stall dropped dead. Jockey Parrington departed for Fort Erie, where he will rest until the next meeting at that point. Several of the Mirasol stables horses are still at Fort Erie, among them Long Distance. Kmldv, Star of Sapphire and Lady Moll. Runes. Hlue Fox and Little Wonder will be shipped from here to Hamilton terrace. AV. T. Martin claimed Kingfisher after he was beaten in the fifth race for ,050.
