SWEETER THAN SUGAR moved up rapidly after entering the homestretch and drew away into a long lead. DAYBREAK seemed to tire, but came again in the last sixteenth and finished gamely. BAR OF PHOENIX closed a big gap from a slow beginning. BRIGHT STAR also made up much ground. MERCHANT ran well. REBEL set a good pace, but quit in the stretch. RUNWAY raced into the lead, but tired In the last eighth. CHEVRON finished well and outgamed AVIATOR. The latter tired badly in the last sixteenth. AIR MAN saved ground on all turns and stayed gamely in the final drive. HALF ROCK was in close quarters right at the finish. FAIR MAC was crowded out at the end.
