KATHLEEN ENOUGH TO GIVE PROMINENCE TO GEORGE J. LONGS STABLE THIS YEAR : 4 With the champion three-year-old filly of the year on his string it was not ditlicult for G. J. Long to accumulate a 6,017 winning total for the year without taking any one especially valuable event, and with only one other animal in his stable that won more than a single race, and he but two. Kathleen went along winning sprinting handicap after handicap following her hollow victory in the Kentucky Oaks as a kind of seasons inaugural, although at her first start she had been nosed out in the Oaks Preliminary. She was one of the few three-year-olds to take the measure of Dodge, which she did in the Claremont Handicap, and fast time was steadily tbe record of her performances, her final race, at Latonia. October. 27, placing three-quarters in 1:12 to her credit. As a two-year-old Kathleen had not been extraordinary. Mr. Long won 0,928 in 1915. when he sent fifteen winners to the post, compared with an equal number of winners this year, when his record was as follows: Horse. Col. and Sex. A.
