ANOTHER TRACK AT TORONTO. Toronto, Out., November 25. Ambitious plans are laid down for the establishment of the newest race course for Ontario, this one to be in Toronto, or at Torontos door. The charter of the Thorncliffe Park Breeding and Racing Association, which was granted some years ago, but has never been operated except for an occasional one-day gathering on the beautiful property at the forks of the Don, will come into full operation with a regular race meeting next summer, according to the preparations now under way. The deal with the estate of the late Robert Davies has been in progress for some time, and is now announced as completed, to the extent that it is declared a certainty that there will be racing there, as stated. A lease has been taken of 140 acres of Thorncliffe for ten years, and the whole deal is to be closed next Thursday, the last day of November. The anticipations of the promoters are to begin actual work as early as possible in the spring, and to have a plant ready for racing as soon as the contractors can finish it. The original plan of the promoter, J. A. Berger of Chicago, included a considerable investment of United States capital in the enterprise, but that has been changed, the representatives of the estate are assured, so that the backing will be Canadian. It is not intended, the promoters say, to have anything but a first-class course, with purses that will, at least, be equal in value to those offered at Woodbine, and racing conducted on such a plane as will appeal to Torontosupporters of the sport. A plot of land of thirty acres in extent, lying along the Canadian Pacific railway side of the property, is to be devoted to automobile parking, and a good motor roml built from Yonge street across to Leaside, which abuts on Thorncliffe Farm. Other transportation will be furnished by the Canadian Pacific trains. Accommodation for 900 horses is included in the plans. Counting in the half-inilers, this will muke the ninth track in Ontario.
