LEADING OWNERS OF THE YEAR. H. 0. Hedwell has kept his big band of racers busy since the first of the year with the result that he has the substantial sum of ,565 to his credit and is the leading owner of the year. Of the sum mentioned above, ,945 represents the net earnings of his horses racing at Oriental Park, Cuba, while the division of his stable campaigning at the Fair Grounds iu New Orleans is responsible for ,620. Jefferson Livingston, who has a big and powerful stable at New Orleans, is closely pressing Bedwell for the leading honors, his horses having won ,950 thus f.:r. Should weather and track conditions be more favorable during the closing weeks of tho New Orleans meeting the probabilities are that Mr. Livingstons winnings will be considerably enhanced, when more of his speedy band get into action.
