GAY CRUSADER WINS TWO THOUSAND. The race for the Two Thousand Cuincas for three-year-olds, was run at Newmarket, Kngland, last Wednesday, with fourteen starters. This race is run over the Rowley Mile course and Mr. Fairies bay colt Hay Crusader, by Kayardo — Cay Laura, ridden by S. Lonoghue. won by a head from W. Astors black colt Magpie, by Dark Ronald — Popinjay, with Otto Madden up. J. Buchanans brown Celt Athdara, by Desmond Lady Jess, ridden by Evans, finished third, three lengths away. The betting was 9 to 4 against the winner; J to 1 Magpie, and 25 to 1 Athdara.
