Too much time and research is required in the matter, with no valuable purpose to serve. Robt. C, Cincinnati, O. The last, meeting at Oakland, Cal. took place in 1911. Lady Lightning won her first race at Juarez March 24, 1911. P. O. D., New Orleans, La. A place parlay in which one of those backed- is "out" for place, is void as to that one and stands as to the others. C. II. H., Denver, Colo. P. P. in charts means post position, the positions assigned the horses when they line up at the post and usually corresponding to their numbers on the days program. J. R. B., Cleveland, O. Firenze is dead. She was a small mare, owned by the late J. B. Haggiu and foaled in 18S4 by Glenelg Florida, by Virgil. Firenze raced from 1880 to 1891, six seasons, started eighty-one times and won forty-six races and 12,5S0. She was retired to the stud and bred three times to Salvator, but none of her children ever raced with distinction. W.. B. J., Chicago, 111. Several horses have won more than one race the same day in this country. At Hawthorne in 1892 The Hero won twice in que afternoon and at Benning in 1S99 Sidney Lucas performed the same feat. November 21, 190G, New York finished second in two races at Benning; , July 14 of the same year at Rockingham Park, won one and was second iu another race.
