RED CROSS HANDICAP AT AQUEDUCT. New York, July 5. Officials of the Queens County Jockey Cfub,have announced the conditions for the Red Cross Handicap, which will be the feature of the racing at Aqueduct on Monday, July 9, when all the profits will be set .aside for the benefit of the Red Cross fund. The event has been arranged to attract the stars of the handicap division, as it will have a guaranteed value of 2,000, and the distance of a mile and a sixteenth will be to the liking of the best horses in training. There is great enthusiasm among the sportsmen over the plan suggested by Mrs. August Belmont, to set aside one day .at mvli race meeting for the benefit of the fund. James Butler, president of the Empire City Racing Association, It. T. Wilson, Jr., of the Saratoga Association, and August Belmont of the Westchester Racing Association, have agreed to give one day for the benefit of the Red Cross fund. On these days the private boxes will be sold by auction and thefree list will be suspended. It is believed also, that the winners of races will devote a liberal portion of the purses to the fund.
