ANOTHER SEAGRAM VICTORY. STURDEE CONTINUES SUCCESS OF STABLE BY DEFEATING CORN BROOM IN-HANDICAP. Feature Race Results in Runaway Win for Priscilla Mullens Canadian Racing: Associations Hold Meeting1 and Reinstates Jockey Mink. Fort Eric, Ont., July 5. The J. E. Seagram stable, which lias been quite successful this year, furnished the winner of the three-quarters handicap at Fort Eric this afternoon, when Stnrdee camn from behind in the stretch r.nd beat Corn Broom by a length and a half. The feature race, a dash or a mile and seventy yards, resulted in a runaway victory for Pricilla Mullens, which beat Ormulu a scant length in a driving finish. Claims were put in for Alex Jetz by Iloward Oots, F. Teahan and Frank Farrar and in the drawing Howard Oots secured the horse for 5950. First Star ran away two miles in his warm-up for the seventh race and was withdrawn. Previous to the races, the Canadian Racing Associations held a meeting in the clubhouse. The case of jockey Mink, who was suspended at Ottawa, was taken up and the lad was restored to gooi! standing, with the proviso that lie makes no attempt to ride at a lighter weight than 108 pounds and that his engagements in the future be made by his contract employer, Edward Trotter. The case of trainer A. O. laretto was carried over until the next meeting, which will be held at Windsor. It was announced that the officials at the meeting to lie held at the Kcnihvorth course will be the same as those at the Windsor course. Trainers and jockeys are notified that licenses will not be issued by the committee of the Canadian Racing Associations after the next meeting to be held at the race course of the Windsor Jockey Club on Tuesday, July 17. Horsemen Arrive from Kentucky. There were a number of arrivals from Kentucky this morning, among them J. B. Goodman, J. L. Paul and W. .R. Sallee. Jockey Lilley accompanied the Paul stable. C. W. Gasser also got in from Xuloui.T. His horses were shipped through to Saratoga. Silk Bird developed a slight fever this morning and was excused from starting in the fourth race by the stewards. Word reached $ horsemen here this morning that a meeting would be given in Chicago beginning July 28 and continuing for thirty days. J. B. Campbell will act as racing secrteary and the position of presiding steward lias been tendered to O. J. Fitz Gerald. James Milton will probably do the starting. J. S. Ward wired that he would ship the three-year-old Berlin to Fort Erie to start in the Canadian Derby, which will be run on Wednesday, the closing day of the meeting. C. J. Fitz Gerald, acting for the Genesee Valley Breeders Association, purchased from Harry Gid-dings this morning the mare Praline by Bassetlaw Maryland. The Genessee Valley Breeders Association is associated with the Jockey Club in the improvement of the breed of horses in the Genessee Valley, and those interested are making rapid strides in that direction. They recently secured eight other half-bred mares in Canada by Philosopher, Farthing and Tupelo.
