IMPROVED WEATHER IN THE EAST Trainers Are- Again Able to Work Their Hones Over Metropolitan Tracks — Sanford Horses in Form. New York. Aoril 15.— There was a break in the weather hereabouts yesterday and horses on the local tracks were permitted to gallop today in preparation for more serious work tomorrow. Walter Jennings has practically decided to ship War Cloud to Kentucky, if he trains to his satis faction. Arrangements are being made for his shipment i n April 30. This practically settles the question of War Cloud being a starter in the Kentucky Derby. While the bad weather necessitated horses being kept under the sheds for about five days, they have not been set back to any great extent and some rather fast work will lie shown this week, according to schedule. The H. A. Porter horses arrived at Belmont Park iu fair form, eight in number, including Iltima Thtile. They are iu charge of Harry Morrissey and are the pick of the recent purchases of Mr. Porter. In the car with Mr. Porter horses came three belonging to John Madden. Kejiorts from the Jamaica track say that the Sanford horses are training satisfactorily. George Smith has rounded out into a much better -looking horse than he was last year and Meteorite is showing up well.
