VETERAN RACER CAPER SAUCE IS DEAD Toronto, Ont.. April 13. — Owner Sol Mintz. of Hamilton, rc|M rts the death from paralysis of Caper Sauce, the sixteen -year-old son of Morpheus — New Dance, .-1 1 1 1 one of the most consistent and most popular of Canadian-bred horses. Caper Sauce was bred at Waterloo by 4. E. Seagram, president of the Ontario Jockey Club, and. after leaving the stable of his breeder, for whom he won a number of races, he passed through the hands of several owners, for all of whom he earned frequent purses. Though he was considered to have passed his usefulness when Mr. Mintz bought him at ten years old. Caper Sauce continued his winning form, and raced as successfully as ever in the new colors. A remarkable feature of his racing was his winning of the same race, the Whitby Plate, at Woodbine for eight successive years. Owner Mintz has only two horses now. Akeldama and Old Reliable, and it is his intention to part with both. *_
