GREAT WAS AMERICAN-BRED IROQUOIS Frank Gray Griswold has issued the fourth volume of his recollections of Sport on Land, and Water. The book Is, dedicated to Iroquois, the first and only American-bred horse to win the Epsom Derby and gives many hitherto unknown facts connected witli the handling and training .of thut really great horse for his many notable races in England. "Iroquois," says Sir. Griswold, "was the best mannered, best tempered race horse of my acquaintance. He was a grand doer, his action was perfection, aud perfectly traiued he should not have lost a race." As it was, Pierre Lorillard won 0,000 on the Derby aud proved that he had the best race, horse of the year, for he beat the great Peregrine, which Robert Peck, an acknowledged authority, affirmed" the best horse he ever tried.
