BREEDING WISDOM FROM ENGLAND In my view, the British thoroughbred has been so persistently inbred in the male lines of AVhalebone and Blacklock for fifty or sixty years that the stock "is like worn out land clamoring for and still responsive to a change. Thus it is that introductions of Herod and Matchem have made such rapid headway in recent years, Roi Herode and Rhoda B. dam of Orby being conspicuous successes, but not more notably so than Doris, the dam of Sunstar and Princess Dorrie. The Buccaneer line through See Saw and Loved One has proved of immense value, more especially as Loved One was fortified by such a dam as Pilgrimage. W. Allison in London Sportsman.
