MORE ABOUT LATONIAS BIG FALL RACE Dunboyne Looms Up as Formidable Candidate No Conflict with World Series Baseball Games. COVINGTON, Ky September 17. Now that the Kentucky autumn racing season is under way. candidates for the 0,000 Latonia Championship Stakes soon will be seen in action in these parts, as many of them have been entered in the rich events which will be decided at Lexington, and Latonia within the next few weeks. The easterners have been especially liberal with stake nominations for their Championship eligibles, chiefly in the long route races, and it looks as though they are going to make the Kentuckians hustle to hold their own with them throughout the thirty-eight days of fall racing. Due to his excellent showing in tlie Lawrence Realization Dunboyne, 1. A. Clarks chestnut son of Celt Workmaid, lias gained many admirers for the big stake in this section, as he demonstrated in that race that he is dead fit to go such a route, and trainer W. Hogan still has a few weeks to work on him. The winner of last years Futurity at Belmont Park, in which race he enriched his owner to the extent of 3,3ti0, has been slow in coming to hand all summer, but his trainer has always had the Iitonia Championship Stakes in view, and for this reason lie did not hustle him in his preparation. Manager Winn is sanguine that the attendance at Latonia on the day that the Championship Stakes is run will exceed even the largest Kentucky Derby day crowd at Churchill Downs, and he bases his belief on the large number of inquiries that he has received from points near and far requesting information regarding the date of its running and its proximity to the worlds series baseball games, at least Jialf of which will be played in Cincinnati. The stellar event in the baseball world will draw people by the thousands to the Queen City from all over America, and few of them will miss the opnortunity to see the richest race on this continent run. As soon as the details for the big baseball games -are completed Mr. Winu will announce the final plans for the running of the Latonia Ohampioship Stakes, as he does not want the two biggest events of the year in sportdom to conflict, and he is desirous of giving the many visitors to Cincinnati a chance to take them both in. With the improvements made at Latonia during the summer, the track can .comfortably .taku.care .of a st5rjiim:JyIarso number of peopleastnurawn "space" which now covers five-sixteenths of a mile will serve as points of vantage for thousands to witness the racing. The object of the Kentucky Jockey Club in its work at Latonia since the spring meeting closed was to provide more room instead of beautifying the plant, but at that a lot of flowers, shrubbery and plants were put out to set off the new portions of the lawn. Horses are beginning to arrive In numbers at Latonia, and ere the next week rolls around it is expected that several of the more formidable candidates for the big stake will be on the scene of the battle. Track superintendent Charley Nolto has the course in excellent condition for tliein to be given their final preparation for the rich event, and he is certain that a hew American turf record for one and three-quarters miles will be established.
