NO CHANGE IN RACING COMMISSION Present Governors of Sport in Kentucky Hold Office for Threo Koro Years Louisville Gossip. LOUISVILLE, Ky., December fi. Reports -have been going the rounds both in Kentucky and at New Orleans for the past week that the recent election of a Republican governor in this state meant a reorganization qf the Kentucky State Racing Commission to the extent that the body would be controlled by the Republicans.- This is absolutely untrue. The present board was appointed November 20, 191S, to hold office for four years, and no member can be removed except for action inimical to the best interests of racing in the state. A majority of the present members of the board are Democrats. Sherman Goodpaster, treasurer of the State of Kentucky, will jjo out of office on Tuesday next. Mr. Goodpaster is also treasurer, of the Kentucky Jockey Club. As yet he lias made no plans for the future, but exacts to spend the greater portion of the winter in this city assisting In the reconstruction of Churchill Downs. Hamilton Keene brought sixteen yearlings from Keeneland Farm near Versailles to Churchill Downs yesterday. They are a likely-looking band and are owned by the Keene Brothers and Brave Head. Will Wallace came in this morning with twenty head, the property of several Fayette County turfmen. Phil Chinn also sent twenty, and more than fifty additional ones are exacted within the next few days by Hamilton Appiegate, the acting manager ot the Downs. There are .nearly double the number of horses now quartered at both local courses than nt any other time iu their history. John Madden has fifty-two youngsters at Churchill Downs. He will keep them there until the racing season opens in the east. This famous breeder declares that they are the best bunch that he- has had iu years.,
