KING GEORGES BREEDING STUD j There are sixteen brood mares in the Royal Stud at Sandringham, all of immaculate pedigree, Vain Dream, by St. Denis April Princess, being the latest addition to the stud, and Adular was selected for her first mate. Unfortunately, the return shows that six of the mares were barren, namely, Ver-vaine to Kwang Su, now bred to Amadis; White Heart to Gay Crusader, now bred to Harry of Hereford; Persepolis to Feather Bed, bred to Adular: Witch of the Air to Amadis, bred to Lemberg; Prim to The Tetrareh, but tried with him again; and Princess de Gales, barren to Friar Marcus, returned to him. Flowerjug was also unlucky, as after a fruitless visit to Black Jester she cast twins to Beppo and was bred to Amadis. More fortunate were Neuve Chapelle, which lias a bay filly by Kwang Su, and has renewed the alliance; Marie Legraye, which has a bay colt by Bowman and. has visited. Beppo; Pintado, with. U black, cH by Swynford and bred to Lemberg; Glad Tidings, with a chestnut filly by Bowman, succeeded by Friar Marcus; Etoile, witli a brown colt by Friar Marcus and bred to Tracery; La Marquise, which has a bay colt by Chaucer and is due to Friar Marcus; Saints Mead, with a bay filly by Tracery and bred to Gay Crusader, and Vain Air, with a bay filly Feather Bed and bred to Lemberg.
