RICKETY GOING TO TEXAS SARATOGA, N. Y., August 19. G. L. Blackford of Dennison, Texas, has bought the six-year-old horse Rickety from narry Payne Whitney ami will place him at the head of his stud. Mr. Blackford has had much success as a breeder while using Meelick, a son of Planudos. as his premier sire. Meellck died recently after sending Centimeter, The Ally and other good performers to the races, and Rickety was bought to succeed him. Rickety is a six-year-old horse bv Broomstick Queen of Hearts, by Hamburg, a sister to Artful, tho conqueror of Sysonby. He was a good race horse and on one occasion defeated Ilourless. Mr. Blackford has some well bred mares at his place and good race horses may bp looked for from Texas as the result of the importation of a horse of Rlcketys breeding and individuality. The horse is at present at Brookdale, but he will shortly be sent to his new home.
