CALIGULA WINS THE FAMOUS ST. LEGER LONDON, September 8. The St. Leger was run at Doncaster today over its course of a mile and three-quarters and 132 yards, with fourteen starters. It fell to the 25 to 1 outsider Caligula, by The Tetrareh Snoot, owned by F. O. Goculdas. Sir Edward Hultons bay colt Silvern, by Polymelus Silver Fowl, was second, and Lady James Douglas bay colt Manton, by Bayardo Jane Grey II., finished third. The Epsom Derby winner Spion Kop ivas the favorite but ran unplaced.
