Won driving; second and third the same. GREY LAO gradually improved his position on the outside of the others, responded gamely to vigorous riding in the stretch and outstayed QUECREEK at the end. QUECREEK, forced back at the start, secured a clear course on the inside, closed up rapidly and took the lead in the stretch, but tired slightly. STAR VOTER, hard ridden all the way, set a good pace and raced CAREFUL into defeat unci was going away in the closing strides. CAREFUL ran well, but was inclined to swerve out arid Iier rider had dilliculty in keeping her straight. THE BOHEMIAN began forwardly, but quit after going a quarter. Won easily; second and third driving. TEDDY R. set the pace under slight restraint iri the early running, drew away in the stretch under hard pressure and was ridden out arid going away at the end. SANTA CLAUS steadily improved bis position on the inside and gamely withstood RODANZKYS challenge. The latter was. repeatedly interfered with by SQUAW MAN and pulled up in the last eighth, then came to the inside and, finishing gamely, would have been second in a few more strides. RIFF RANG ran poorly in the curly running, but easily passed BLUE LADDIE in the last eighth. TOM McTAGGART followed the leader under restraint in the early running and was forced back when he attempted to slip through next to the inner rail, but came around the leader when eritering trie stretch and won casing up. MARS MOUSE rushed into the lead and displayed the most speed for three-quarters, then tired, but held HENDRIE safe. The latter saved ground on all the turns, but couid never improve his position. The latter began, slowly and closed up. steadily in the stretch, but was tiring under his weight in the closing strides. LEADING STAR easily outstayed the others. COURTSHIP quit after setting a fast early pace.
