MANTACHEFFS BIG ESTABLISHMENT Judging by the importance of the purchases made by Xeon Mantacheff at Deauvillc, the stable which he proposes to establish in France will bo formidable. In addition to seventeen foals which he has acquired for a total cf 1,200,000 francs, he has the following sixyearlings: Faustina, f, by Mon General Fulda II.; Suzon, e, by Sunstar Mira II.; AVhite, c, by Sunstar Alumotith; Priscus, c, by Picton Caryna; Miss Star, f, by Sunstar Miss Pintrie; and Cyanite, f, by Picton Cyanine. Before the war, in 1912 and 1913, M. Mantacheff had already made some sensational purchases of youngsters at Newmarket. He had, too, a large establishment in Russia, but more than 200 of the animals there were killed or stolen by the Bolsheviks, and only eight were saved. M. Manta-cheffs now establishment will have the same trainer as he employed in Russia, M. AAadomski, a Pole. The horses will be ridden by the Polish jockey, Bortnik, and R. AVallon, but for next year Mantacheff has engaged the American jockey AVink-f ield, whose services he utilized in Russia. London Sportsman.
