PROSPEROUS RACING IN AUSTRALIA Racing boomed in Melbourne as elsewhere during the recently concluded season. The Victoria Racing Club distributed 18,980 in prize money for sixteen days, and then made a profit of nearly 00,000. The Victoria Amateur Turf Club gave 04,810 for nineteen days; Mooney Valley, 1,697 for nine days; Wllliamstown, eight for 1,907. and the total for the 119 days racing of all classes trotting and pony meetings included within the twenty-mile radius of Melbourne was ,180,707. The previous best was ,012,025 for 102 days racing in 1914-15.
