Famous for over a quarter of a century, this most noted of American turf races has lost none of its glamour and prestige. One of the largest fields in its history is named to strive for the rich "prize, the glory and fame that goes to the winner. Never before has the Futurity presented a more open aspect. "With Morvich and Miss Joy ineligible, .and the late withdrawal of Kai-Sang, it is indeed 2i open race. The result is that twenty-four young aristocrats of the year are among the j overnight acceptances. H. P. Whitney and the Greentree Stable, trained by James Eowe, Jiave named five, and the entry rules favorite on the eve of the race. The Rancocas Stable, j deprived of its star, Kai-Sang, has leased Harridan and Surf Rider from J. E. Madden to carry its colors and, with Fator and Sande to pilot them, this pair will not lack admirers, i J. S. Cosden, M. L Schwartz and the Lexington Stable are represented by two entries each, snd the remainder by one each. It is without doubt the best two-year-old field of the year, j jind should furnish a contest worthy of the best traditions of the famous race.
