PUFFERiN PARKS BIG CROWD Over 6,000 See Good Racing Trainer Russell and Jockey Foden in Limelight. TORONTO. Out.. September a. W. Russell, the local trainer, saddled two" of tho winners at Duf-ferin Park this afternoon. His first success came when Lady Binmore annexed the second race for Canadian breds after leading throughout. At the end the Plaudmore filly led. Dependence and Banyan by a margin of a length. When W C. Campbells Avion captured the third race rather handily, it marked the second success for .both trainer Russell and jockey N. Foden. The concluding race was productive of the best finish of the afternoon, .loe .Toe barely lasted to withstand Walter Turnbows fast-closing rush, although the latter was in close quarters on the inside during the stretch run. Ideal weather conditions again prevailed and the attendance was even larger than opening day, when six thousand visited the course. The infield today was pressed into service to handle the overflow. Jockey H. Shilling, a brother of Carroll Shilling, arrived here yesterday and made his initial appearance in the saddle at the west side course today.. Little Pete was severely kicked and had a blood vessel severed in his left, foreleg while at the post yesterday. He may be on the shelf for sometime. B. C. Reech reports Hattie Willdo to be in a serious condition today as a result of pneumonia contracted following the recent crash at Belleville, while en route here from Montreal. Reech entertained only slight hope for the recovery of the horse. An attempt to run Horace Lercli was made today, he again showed the effects of the mishap at Belleville, pulling up lame after a short work this morning. He was excused from the seventh race.
