WHISK, running in suddeulv improved form, raced forwardly from the start and. taking a small lead in the last eighth, outstayed CARPET SWEEPER in the final drive. CARPET SWEEPER closed a big gap and was going fastest of nil at the finish. VALOR.- under slight restraint In the early running, moved up menacingly in the stretch, but tired in the final drive. MERCURY showed much early speed and raced into the lead, but tired. CRYSTAL FORI ran well. ROMANY set the early pace brieily. CRACK O DAWN was shullled back soon after tin; start. COURT VIEW set the early puce and, after being passed, held on gamely for second place. JOAN MARIE raced gamely, but was outpaced. BAYONNE, off well, was rushed into the. lead and, set a fast pace, but could not withstand the winners challenge. FINALITY saved-much ground when entering the stretch and finished gamely. SUNNYEAND moved up game. after rounding the last turn, but could never overhaul the winner. DARK HILL was off well and under restraint for the first half, but could not respond when called oil. The latter was uff slowly and saved ground on the last turn, but was .compelled to bump his way through in the stretch and, finishing gamely when clear, would have won in a few more strides. KNOT GRASS set a fast pace, but tireil in the last eighth. VENIZELOS. a forward contender in the early running, also tired in the -stretch drive. ATTA .GAL finished well.
