PARIS INTERNATIONAL WEEK Maisons Laffittes Annual Autumn Racing Festival Now Under Way. PARIS, France September 29. International week at Maisons Laffitte was ushered in Monday by the running of the Prix de la Manche. During the weeks racing many valnable stakes will be decided and numerous horses have arrived from England, Belgium and Spain. The balmy air and pleasant warmth of the early autumn is exhilarating and immense crowds, representing the wealth, fashion and aristocracy of the French capital, are to be seen promenading on the lawn. Racing results follow: The Prix de la Manche, a race at five-eighths for three-year-olds and upward, ,500 added: A. K. Macorabers Hollister, b. or br. h, 7, by Sunstar Our Lassie ONeill 1 Capt. J. D. Cohns Glorious, ch. c, 4, by Main-tenon Gloria II. Garner 2 J. Rutgcr Le Roys Courtall, ch. c, 4, by Oversight Court Dress Henry 3 Won by a length. There were fifteen starters. The Handicap de la Tamise, a race at one and one-eighth miles for three-year-olds and upward, ,000 added, was won by Marcel Boussaca Tuberose, b. c, 3, by Fitz Herbert Rose Pompon Kreigelstein, by three lengths from a field of twenty. Mr. Clarence Mackay bred the winner. Hollister, winner of the Prix de la Manche, was well known on the American turf. Bred in England by John B. Joel he was brought to America as a yearling by A. K. Macomber and was placed in the hands of W. B. Jennings for schooling and training. He raced as a two-year-old in 1910 with moderate success. As a three-year-old he won many important stakes, but he did not develop his great speed until 1918, when as n four-year-old he met and conquered some of the top notch stake horses of that year. He won, among others, the Highweight Handicap, All Age Handicap, Autumn Highweight Handicap and Babylon Hnndicap. He did not race much as a five-year-old, but apparently he has become acclimatized in France and evidently retains his old-time speed. A
