FINALE AT . KENILWORTH Big Crowd Sees Last Day of Racing Star Realm in Thrilling Finish. WINDSOR, Ont., Oct. 12. With the running of todays card at Kenilwortli Park the racing season for 1921 on the Canadian Racing Associations tracks came to a close. Racing conditions were not of the best, the weather being cold and raw and the track lumpy and heavy. Nevertheless, Detroit racegoers turned out in droves and the attendance was tiie best of the meeting. The running of the- Waterloo Handicap, one of the afternoons feature races, wan marred by a bi of rough riding when the winner, June Fly, swerved across to the inside rail in the last sixteenth aid crowded the fast closing Woodbine into the fence. Gantner, who had the mount on the last named, was forced to pull up and the .interference ruined whatever chance the Brookdale starter may have had. As it was, she was just beaten out for second place by St. Paul. Gantners claim of foul against the winner was not allowed by the stewards, who permitted the result to stand as the horses finished. Tho Addison Handicap, a dash of a milo and seventy yards, was won by Star Realm, whir-h just managed to get up in the final strides to beat out Day Lilly by a nose. It was a thrilling finish Star Realm, after passing Day Lilly on the turn into the stretch, drew into a clear lead and appeared an easy winner. Imagine the surprise of his backers when with only a short distance to go Star Realm suddenly tired and Day Lilly, coming again, almost turned defeat into victory. The finish was so close that not until the official placing was announced were the spectators certain as to which of the two had won. , The Brookdnle Stable provided a surprise in the initial dash of the afternoon when Fox Glove led home Alva and Delhimar, the equal choices in the race. Alva set the pace to the last eighth, where Fox Glove came through on the inside and in a rattling fine finish made good in the final strides, the two favorites being unable to overtake Fox Glove when once in the lend. W. C. Weant transferred the contract he held, on jockey- Chiavettu -T?trtWilMams andthelad will accompany the latters. stable to New Orleans. W. McKiimey, trainer for" E. T. Zollicoffcr, reported the death of Hidden Snip, which died as a result of blood poisoning. . June Fly and Spugs, brother and sister, were among the afternoons winners. After Pueblos disappointing race James Arthur disposed of him to L. Erb. Mabel Cr.rtis was excused by the stewards from starting in the first race, she haviug developed kidney trouble. C T. Worthington shipped his string of thirteen this morning to Kentucky. The Brookdale, Seagram and Thorncliffe Stables will ship to their winter quarters tomorrow. Some of the smaller Canadian stables shipped tonight. Starter Harry Morrissey, whose work has been high class here, leaves for Lexington for a short stay at his farm before departing for Tijuana, where he will again officiate at the barrier during the winter meeting. Judge Francis Nelson, who has been the steward representing the Canadian Racing Associations on all the large tracks in Canada this year, will alst soon leave for San Diego and will be presiding steward at Tijuana again next winter.
