DOLLY VARDEN raced close up all the way and made a game finish. EXECUTION raced next to the inner rail throughout and out finished SIMPLE SIMON. The latter raced in close quarters in the early running :ind tired when clear. PROMENADE met with interference and was forced extremely wide when entering the stretch. LA KROSS raced on the inside all the way and took a long lead in the stretch, but tired when challenged. LORD HERBERT gained steadily on the outside and finished with a belated rush. DIMMESDALE showed excellent speed and, setting a fast pace, raced TEN-LEG Into defeat and finished gamely. TEN-LEC, away forwardly, tired after running a fast half mile. The latter moved up menacingly on the stretch turn, but tired and swerved to the inner rail. SEA SINNER set the early pace and raced on the inside for the entire race. . LEGHORN raced in nearest pursuit of the winner all the way and was gaining slowly in tin; last strides. PHANTOM BLUE, slightly lame when going to the. post, lacked early speed, but saved much ground on the turns and made a fast and game finish. PRELUDE began slowly and closed a big gap.
