GRACE MAYERS, after racing in close pursuit of BRILLIANT RAY in the stretch, came through on the inside and. after being cut off at the eighth post, came to the outside and got up in the closing strides to win going away. BRILLIANT RAY showed the most speed and saved ground on the turns, but tired in the final sixteenth. CLANSMAN came wide on the stretch turn and finished resolutely. Won. easily; secoud and third driving. MUSTY raced and jumped as if he outclassed the others, was inclined to run out after taking the jumps and stumbled at several, but outran the others on the Hat. PERKIOMEN saved ground at ihe jumps and raced to the front for a brief period in the last turn of the field, but was no match for the winner. SOBRIGADE ran and jumped well for the .entire race. RELAY raced in closest pursuit of the leader and easily held second place safe. TREVELYAN showed a good order of spued and raced gamely, hut Just lasted long enough to outstay ALL OVER. BLAZES forced, the pace, but -was much used in racing with DAMASK and was tiring at the eiid. CAPTAIN ALCOCK closed a big gap oiid finished resolutely.
