MORVICH READY FOR THE BIG RACE NEW YORK. X. Y., October 29. Criticism of the champion two-year-old, Morvich, in .the light of a work-out Friday, appears unjustified, according to turf critics who have followed the fortunes of the sensational youngster from the start of his racing career. The colt went the first three-quarters of a mile in 1:15 and completed the mile in 1:43 in his gallop Friday. It is pointed out that iu spite of general opinion to the contrary, Morvich is not a particularly good work horse. He is inclined to be rather indolent and will not run any faster than necessary when he is taking morning gallops. Trainer Fred Burlew had no intention of forcing the youngster in Fridays work, which marked the first time that the colt had been asked to go the distance of the Pimlico Futurity. The work was satisfactory and as good as had been expected, it is said. He is training well and should be at the peak of his form for the big race.
