Sir James Buchanans Hebrides finished second and Marshall Fields Treacle third. .The finish was a close , one, with a head separating Lembach and Hebrides. Treacle was a poor third, five lengths in the rear. The Dewhurst Stakes of 500 sovereigns, for two-year-olds, is run over a scen-eighths course, and is considered, along with the Middle Park- Plate, which was run two weeks ago at Newmarket; Jth,e final and most conclusive test of two-year-old form. The winner of either of these races is generally established as the winter Epsom Derby favorite, so the choice will lie between Marshall Fields Golden Corn, winner of the Middle Park Plate, and Mr. Moores Lembach, winner of Thursdays race.
