STABLE FOREMAN RULED OFF LATONLV, Ky., July 7. William Keys, stable foreman for John H. Nichols, was ruled off by the stewards under the provisions of rule 237. After the stewards denied the further entry of Millersburg, because of frac-tlousncss at tho barrier, J. H. Nichols notified tho stewards that the actions of the luaro were duo to the "dope" or stimulant given her by Keys. Mr. Nichol3 was requested to make an affidavit to this statement, which ho did. When asked to produce Keys he said the latter had left for his home in Tennessee, being called there by illness of ono of his relatives. This was on June 2S. Today Keys appeared before tho stewards and admitted giving the mare a dronch of whisky and quinine, to "quiet" her. Asked if he had given any whisky or quinine to any other horse at any time, he said "no," but that ho had taken quinine himself at times for a cold. Ho disclaimed having given any "dope" or stimulant to any of the other horses.
