PRIDE OF UMBRIA raced in nearest pursuit throughout and, liaising gamely, outstayed KOI1K. The latter was off forwnrdly and raced gamely, but could never improve his position. Won driving; second and third the same. DUNLIN was forced wide when entering the stretch, but gradually wore the leaders down and won drawing clear. CAVEAT IIMPTOR, off forwardly, forced GOLDEN RULE wide and interfered with i him through the stretch, for which he was disqualified. FULLON saved ground on the turns and finished fast and gamely. HIGH CHIEF set a fast pace and had a clear course throughout, but tired in the final drive. GOLDEN RULE met with repeated interference and was forced to be pulled up in the last sixteenth.
