CONTINUES WINNING WAY Gray Gables Scores Third Con-secutiye Victory, Taking Niagara Falls Purse. FORT ERIE, Ont., July 7. The Niagara Falls Purse, which was offered as the feature attraction at Fort Erie this afternoon, resulted in victory for Gray Gables, which continued on his winning way and brought his score to three consecutive victories. Cote dOr took second place, while Mercutio was third. The race was a dash of a mile and a sixteenth and brought out a well-balanced field. The start found all the contestants leaving in perfect alignment, with Gray Gables racing in front, followed by Mercutio. while Cote dOr was in third position. This order was reversed when the field was straightened out on the backstretch and Cote dOr displaced Mercutio. Gray Gables set a fast pace and drew away from Cole dOr rounding the far turn and held his opponents safe for the remainder of the journey, while Cote dOr had a safo advantage over Mercutio, which was ridden out to save third place from Parisian Diamond. Gray Gables was neglected in the wagering and netted a return of 5.40 for the usual ?2 investment. Tho Waldeck stable uncovered a good two-year-old in the running of the opening dash, which was for maidens at five-eighths, when The Quest dashed into a long lead and toyed with, his opponents for the remainder of the race. Buckwheat took second place, while My Solace was third. The winner was ridden by Weiner and was accorded confident support in his calculations. The Queat pulled up decidedly lame following the running. Gallipot proved much the best of a band of Cheap platers in the second affair, which was at five and a half furlongs, while Red-mon, a despised outsider, scored in the third. Redmon was the longest priced winner of the afternoon. A head finish came with the running of the fourth race, which was for Canadian-breds, when Blarney Boy outlasted Bryn-thona, while Witch Flower was third. Racing conditions this afternoon were ideal and a crowd of large proportions journeyed to the course. Racing was of a spirited order. Walter Scofield will take a division cf the J. K. L. Ross stable to Windsor tomorrow. Jcckey J. McTaggart was forced to cancel his engagements following the fourtli race, due to indigestion. At private terms this morning L. Tauber, acting for the Grcentree Stable, sold Deba-dou to C. Buxton. Trainer George Walker of the Brookdala Stable announced this morning that the Canadian bred Corensio would be a starter at Windsor. The colt has fully recovered from his mishap at tho Woodbine, which threw him out of the Kings Plate and the Canadian Derby. The following owners have announced their intention of shipping to Maple Heights, Cleveland: K. G. Atkinson, II. Neustcter, C. W. Hall, O. Johnson, C. I. Wilson, J. Hut-ton. G. C. Milton, C. L. ."Whiting. P. Ley-decker, M. J. Hernandez, and a division of the C. P. Winfrey Stable.
