TO IMPROVE BELMONT TRACK NEW YORK, N. Y., September 5. President August Belmont of the Westchester Racing Association has announced that immediately after the close of the fall meeting at Belmont Park the main course will be closed and that it will receive a special treatment designed for its improvement during the winter months. The regular training track will be improved also and kept open as late as anybody cares to use it. A shelter will be arranged for the trainers in case of bad weather. The top dressing of manure which the main course had last fall was of such value that it will be repeated this year. This will not only make the soil more pliable but will prevent soil from blowing. No expense will be spared to make the footing perfect.
