RECORD OF BILLY KELLY Thirty-Eight Races and 7,882 Won by Popular Little Gelding in Five Years Racing. Here is the racing record of the ever popular Billy Kelly, which has been retired to a life of ease on the farm of his owner, J. K. L. Ross, who would not permit the little gelding to be raced any longer, because he had become a bleeder. Certain it is, Billy Kelly deserves anything he wishes to give him, as he and Cudgel were among the first horses to make tlte Ross stable the formidable establishment it became. Billy Kelly was one of the star, two-yeai-olds of 1918, winning fourteen out of seventeen races and 3,783. As a three, four and five-year-old the little fellow continued to race on with marked success, holding his own in the best of company. He leaves a record of thirty-eight victories out of sixty-si starts and a total of I97.8S2 in money wok, as is here shown below: Billy Kelly, b. g. 1916, by Dick Welles Glena, by Free Knight. Year.
