OllERMAN took the lead quickly and drew away steadily to win in a canter. JJLUE TEAL, off forwardly. raced in closest pursuit of the leader throughout, but tired in the stretch and was hard ridden at the end. DOUGHNUT met with minor interference in the first quarter, but came to the outside in the stretch and oiitfinished SKA MINT for third place. The latter saved ground on all the turns and had no mishap. DAN ROLLING began slowly and closed a big gap. ORCUS quit in the final eighth. The last five at the start had little chance. The winner, entered for ,500, was bid up to ,205 and bought in. MISS SMITH gradually improved her position on the outside and made a game finish, but could not overhaul the leader. COEUR DE LION had a rough race in the early running, finished gamely when clear and outstayed DANIEL. The latter was shuffled back and, slipping through on the inside when entering the stretch, gained menacingly, but tired in the closing strides. WILLIAM TELL, ofT slowly, steadily improved his position in the first five-eighths, but was forced wide on the stretch turn and lost much ground. SPOT CASH ran a fast half. SEQUEL unseated her rider before the start and cantered away over a mile on the track and through the stable yards, but took the lead at once and, setting a fast pace, always held her opponents safe. GREAT LADY slipped through on the inside when entering the stretch and made a game effort at the eighth post, but tired in the final drive. DICKS DAUGHTER, after being a forward contender in the early running, ran out when entering the stretch, but came again in the final eighth and would have been second in a few more strides. CORSE PAYTON, close up from the start, came fast and gamely through the last eighth and, challenging HIGH SPEED, outfinished him in the final drive. HIGH SPEED set a good pace from the start and, raving ground on all the turns, only succumbed right at the end.
