Lord Carnarvons four-year-old colt Franklin, by Volta Cambric, won the Grand Prize Queen "Victoria here Sunday, leading a big field to victory by a short length from M. Jean Lieuxs Spanish Flu. The English and French horses ran shoulder to shoulder throughout the one mile and three-eighths of the race. Several of the best of the Spanish horses were entered, but King Alfonsos Ruban, winner of the Kings 80,000 prize a Aveek earlier, was ineligible to start, because of the ruling which prohibits the winner of the King Alfonso XIII.
