HA WTHORNE TURF NOTES AND OTHER NEWS ITEMS OF INTEREST Joseph A. The 8,000 in purses assigned for the last four days of the meeting will be pro rated over five days instead of four. This will be keeping faith with the horsemen and will also give six more purses for distribution. Morris Hoffman of New York, a well-known turf follower throughout the United States, is an arrival at Hawthorne for the remainder of the meeting. "William A. One or more races each day call for a purse of ,000 or over. The meeting is for one hundred or more days, opening Thursday, November 30, 1922, and continuing until March 25, 1923. Judge Joseph A. Murphy sent word to trainer J. E. Hawkins and Jockey W. Mee-han to report to him. Starter George T. Miller added the following to the schooling list this morning: De-lante, Layol, Kuklux, High Cost, Whippet and W. G. McClintock.
