HORINGA began somewhat slowly, but slipped through next to the inside rail after rounding the far turn and, racing to the front with a rush, drew away into a long lead in the homestretch and won in a canter. PHANTOM FAIR sot a great pace, but was much used in racing LANCELOT and SELOTA into defeat and tired badly. RAS ran a good race and outfinished CICERONIAN in the final drive. WAKEFIELD dropped out of contention in the first quarter, but finished with a belated rush. GEORGE DUNCAN ran well to the last eighth. CHEFA could never get up, FLAME quit badly.
