STABLE WINNINGS FOR 1922 QUINCY STABLE STABLEThe The Quincy Stable campaigned a string of twenty horses last year two of which never started All but three of the remainder won at least one race Captain Alcock the Sub ¬ urban Handicap winner was the star and largest money earner for this establishment which is owned by Frederick Johnson Altogether the stable fared well in the racing of 1922 with a total of 32 races won and 99595 in stake and purse prizes to its credit As a majority of the horses comprising the stable are young horses and likely to figure promi ¬ nently in the racing of 1923 a review of their record of last year will prove of interest to the close student of the sport who overlooks no item in considering the prospects for the coming spring meetings Here they are famous Nursery Stud where Man o War the horse of the century came from Three of the eleven horses making up the stable never faced the barrier while the others were raced infre ¬ quently illness and training mishaps playing havoc with as promising a band of young horses as any man could wish to own In Messenger Mr Belmont was conceded to have one of the best juveniles of 1922 and it was indeed unfortunate that this son of Fair Play Mis ¬ sion was not able to fulfill all his stake engagements Tie is reported to be thriving during the winter months and will undoubtedly be given careful consideration when the Derby and Preakness candidates are being discussed Many shrewd judges predict that he will be the sensation of the 1923 racing season in the threeyearold division Here is the
