Blackland and Vivaldi ran a dead heat for third place, finishing a length be-w hind Westmead. The Victoria Cup has 0,000 and a gold cup valued at ,250 added. Todays race attracted twenty-four starters, with Sicyon the favorite at 7 to 2. Westmead was at 7 to 1 in the wagering and was second choice. Top Gallant was quoted at S to 1, while Blackland was at 15 to 1 and Vivaldi at 33 to 1.
