DEPUTY, a forward contender from the start, raced next to the rail and, Baving much ground when entering the stretch, finished fast and outgamed PATHAN in the final drive. The latter gradually worked his way up on the extreme outside and closed up gamely at the eighth-post, but continued to swerve in toward the rail and his jeekey was unable to ride him out vigorously. LADY GAFFNEJ finished with a belated rush on the outside and was going fast at the end. SUN SILENT showed the 7 specd and s11"01 fron interference in the stretch. FLORENCE B. WALKEK tired. AGGRA-ATIJG PAPA was poorly ridden. ANTILLES moved up menacingly on the stretch turn, but could not quite everhaul the winner. DIVERSITY saved ground on all the turns and was racing gamelv in the closing strides.
