PARKE LEADS THE JOCKEYS Young Apprentice Displaces P. Walls from Exalted Position Sande Percentage Leader. Last weeks racing produced a new leader among the jockeys in the person of I. Parke, tho young apprentice rider, whose sparkling work in the saddle has been one of the outstanding incidents of this falls racing in Kentucky. Parke rode eight winners last week and wrested the leadership from P. Walls, who only rede three. Their total scores are now Parke 124. Walls, 121. Parke might have increased his winnings last week, but was set down for ten days and this will afford Walls an opportunity to regain the laurels he lost last week. Sande remains in third place with 115 winners as his score. L. McAtee and L. McDermott are having a battle royal for fourth place. Each rode six winners last week and McAtee has an advantage of two over McDermott, their respective scores being 109 and 107. A significant fact in connection with the standing of our jockeys for 1923 is that of the thirty leaders, only six have a percentage of 20 or more. Sande, of course, leads in this respect with a mark of .28, McDermott is second with .27, McAtee third with .25, Parke fourth with .22. P. Walls and E. Martin are tied with .20 each, all the other leaders following below that mark. Here are the records of our thirty leaders from January 1 to and including the racing of Saturday last: .Tockcr.
