The program book for the first nine days of the one hundred or more days of racing at Havana, beginning Thanksgiving Day, November 29, has been issued and distributed among the horsemen racing in Kentucky and Maryland. It is in keeping with the recent announcement that the purses will range from 00 upward. For the first day there are two 00 purses, three of 00, and the Thanksgiving Handicap of ,200. "W. H. Shelley, the racing secretary, who will also act as one of the judges, compiled the book and has used all the skill acquired by years of experience in this class of work to provide a particularly attractive program. The first race each day will begin at 2:30 p. m. and six races will be run daily, except Saturday and Sunday, when an additional race will be carded.
