W. NEWMAN CRITICALLY ILL BALTIMORE, Md., Nov. 12. W. Newman lies dangerously ill at the South Baltimore General Hospital and little hope is held for his recovery. His daughter arrived from New Orleans last night. Mr. Newman has been racing the mare Bendita on the Maryland tracks this fall. He is a native of New Orleans, where he conducted an extensive furrier establishment for many years. His colors were seen on most every track in his country and Canada at one time or another.
