EPINARDS CRUSHING IMPOST LONDON, England, Jan. 26.-Pierre Wer-theimers Epinard has been assigned the record impost of 140 pounds for the Lincolnshire Handicap, the first big stake of Englands 1924 flat racing season. This is the highest weight ever assigned to a horse for this event. The previous record was that of Polymelus, which was assigned 139 pounds, but did not start. Epinard is asked to concede nineteen pounds to his closest rival. Condover, whicli has been assigned only 121 pounds. Others of the higher weights are Drake, 119 ; Even-der, 118; Sir Galahad III., 117; Pondoland, 11G, and Whitebud, 98. White Bud won last years Lincolnshire, but she -is asked to pick up only seven pounds more in this years renewal of the fixture.
