The latter set the early pace and finished more gamely than usual. SERA, last at the start, closed a big gap. The others were never threatening contenders. VIRGO, under strong riding, ran well, but tired and barely managed to save second place. PLOW STEEL was saved to the stretch, where he finished fast and gaining. MARY JANE BAKER finished with a rush. PUBLICITY came around the leaders when turning for home and appeared all over the winner when a sixteenth out, but could not quite withstand the winners rush. SETHS ALIBI ran a gocd race.
